Hot Surface

In confusion, crypticness, life, story on August 14, 2009 by Michelle

When you put your hands on a hot surface, you immediately pull your hand away. The consequence is a burn that will hurt really bad, but it’ll feel better once you put some aloe on it for a period of time. After that burn, maybe you’ll get a scar, but you’ll learn to never touch a hot surface again because it hurts and nobody should make the same mistake twice. But hypothetically, you burn yourself again in the same spot, but this time you purposely put your hand on the same hot surface as last time, how does it feel? Your skin was damaged from the first burn; what does that mean now? Your hands are going to hurt even more now. Surely a little bit of aloe will help, but how much does that actually help? Maybe it works the first time, but probably not this time around. So why would you purposely put yourself through all the pain all over again when you already know what will happen if you do? Had you not learned from the first time that putting your hands on a hot surface will hurt? Did you honestly think it would be different this time around? Nobody should be that stupid to make the same mistake twice.

Right now, it feels like I’m about to burn my hand again; I’m just like an inch away, I feel the heat, but I’m not pulling back. I learned a lot, hopefully I’m not stupid enough to make the same mistake all over again.

Intimacy

In writing on December 11, 2008 by Michelle

I was looking through my drafts on here and in the mess of drafts of my attempts at expressing my emotions in the past month, I found this from the summer. It’s something that I found while blogging and I found it to be very interesting to say the least. I’m not sure where it’s from, but it’s a good read in my opinion. So maybe take the time to read it.

The beginning might seem weird, but it’s not weird after the first 2 paragraphs.

Breaking Dawn: Quote 15

Quote 15: (July 26)

Sam: “This is not something our treaty anticipated. This is a danger to every human in the area.”

Danger? *GASP* Some serious business going on here! More werewolf + vampire negotiations with the treaty, must be serious. Vulturi coming to town perhaps?

Breaking Dawn: Quote 14

Quote 14 (July 25):

Edward: “You look so guilty—like you’ve committed a crime.”

Oh really?

8 more days left! Aug 2nd!

Breaking Dawn: Quote 13

Quote 13: (July 24)

Rosalie: “Over my pile of ashes.”

FINALLY A ROSALIE QUOTE. I’ve been waiting for one. This made me chuckle. I’m not even kidding you. I actually found it cute because it’s like “over my dead body”, but vampire style since like you can’t be sure that vampires are dead until they’re torn up into pieces and then burned to ashes. Yeah, okay I amuse myself way too easily.

Btw, the script for the movie leaked. But wtf, where’s Breaking Dawn?

Breaking Dawn: Quotes 10, 11, 12

Wow, I’m so lazy to even keep up with these quotes. But goodness, 9 more days! SO EXCITED LIKE YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

Quote 10: (July 21)

Edward: “Oops.”

Really, what was I supposed to think about that? Sarcasm much? I think so.

Quote 11: (July 22)

Renee: “Alice wouldn’t let us do anything else. Every time we tried, she all but ripped our throats out.”

Okay, I totally think this is over the wedding. They probably don’t like something that Alice is doing to it and they try to talk Alice out of it, but she’s not giving in. Yeah, that sounds good enough for me. I’m not in the greatest mood for theories.

Quote 12: (July 23)

Edward: “Do you want me to sing to you? I’ll sing all night if it will keep the bad dreams away.”

BY FAR MY FAVORITE QUOTE. Oh Edward. ;) So adorable, y/y? So I really do want him to sing all night because I kind of want to see Robert singing in the BD movie, if it ever comes out. Hah. This quote makes me all happy on the inside.

Breaking Dawn: Quotes 6, 7, 8, 9

Yay, my catch-up post! :) I really don’t have much comments about these, they weren’t as fascinating as I had hoped for it to be.

Quote 6: (July 17)

Charlie: “Bells, we’re up to bat.”

Quote 7: (July 18)

Edward: “You’re awfully small to be so hugely irritating.”

Okay, a quote like that has been said in a previous book already. So it’s not that big of a surprise or “new quote”. I find it pretty typical of Edward to be saying that as well. Bella seems to be the one that irritates, too.

Quote 8: (July 19)

Bella: “Why am I covered in feathers?”

WTF?! I thought this was pretty funny when I read it. I don’t think she literally means feather, more like Alice had too much fun dressing Bella or something along those lines. Well, this is something that I want to read into. Haha, feathers.

Quote 9: (July 20)

Alice: “No one will dare to call you plain when I’m through with you.”
Bella: “Only because they’re afraid you’ll suck their blood.”

Typical.

Breaking Dawn: Quote 4

Cool, so I’m a day early on my quotes, whatever. I’m just a day ahead and when it’s August 1st, I’ll hardly be able to contain my excitement that the next day I’ll be getting my hands on the book. Unless it leaks before that of course, which I hope because I wouldn’t mind getting spoiled like that. Onward with the quote!

Emmett: “Oooo, scary.”

I just thought it was epic failure on S. Meyer’s part. No other comment really. I can hardly deal with the random sarcasm in the quotes right now. Epic, epic failure I tell you. Whatever, I kind of like Emmett and didn’t think I saw enough of him in the other books, hopefully this means more of him. Yeah. And you know, some sort of descriptive sentence is considered a quote too, it doesn’t necessarily have to be dialog.

And could you believe that some fan sites are actually closing down because Meyer asked them to? That makes me slightly depressed, less snooping now. Oh well. I need a break to do something else. Btw, TMZ in the morning really wakes me up.

Breaking Dawn: Quotes 2 & 3

Hah, I totally forgot that I was making posts on here about the quotes. So that’s why I’m doing today’s late and already doing tomorrow’s because well, we already got it. Hah, it’s all good.

Quote 2: (July 13)

“Bella: “Oh, Mike! How will I go on?””

Really, that’s like nothing. Edward probably left for a while and Bella is just kind of stuck with Mike? But what the heck? Since when did Mike started talking to Bella again? Ugh. So random. So let’s move on.

Quote 3: (July 14)

Tanya: Ah, Edward. I’ve missed you.

WTF?! <– That was literally my first reaction when I read it. I totally expected Tanya to be in the story now so it wasn’t that big of a surprise. I smell a good section of drama if it ends up turning out big! :D But no, Edward is too faithful to pay attention to Tanya, not like he has before anyway. I trust Edward! Bella is probably going to complain and think she’s not good enough for Edward again – worst thing ever! I’m getting so uptight over this; I’d feel so stupid if this means hardly anything in the book. Rawr.

Breaking Dawn: Quote 1

So Stephenie Meyer is doing this 21 days of “Breaking Dawn” quotes thing to countdown until the actual release! I decided to post the quotes here so I can keep track of how long it has been since the 21 day countdown. :) These quotes are supposed to be misleading and it’s not supposed to give anything out, but they’re still going to get me pretty excited.

Alice: I’ll play you for it. Rock, paper, scissors.
Edward: Why don’t you just tell me who wins?
Alice: I do. Excellent.

Honestly, I thought about it last night and I think it’s probably over nothing because if it was over something that Edward cared about, he’d probably be digging through Alice’s thoughts to see her move and counter it and then Alice would see it and change her move and then Edward would see that. Then Alice would get a new prediction of the future, but then Edward would see that too. So it’d go on for a while if it meant enough for Edward. That’s what I’m making out of it. This totally reminds me of their chess game that amused me for a while.
