Yosemite!

In family on July 20, 2008 by Michelle

As you probably know, I went to Yosemite with my parents, brother, and 2 cousins (the one living with us and Celine). So we left on Thursday around 2:30 and then arrived at Mammoth Lake, where we were staying, at 9. The trip there was pretty boring, nothing too scenic, but the view we got of the sky at one point was pretty lovely. I took some pictures and I plan on using it for textures. :) Anyway, we checked in to our motel and then decided that we would just order pizza for dinner. We ate, played cards, showered, then went to bed. It was absolutely annoying being in ONE room with FIVE OTHER people. I shared a bed with Celine and she kept hitting me in her sleep so I didn’t get that great of a sleep. We woke up Friday morning at 6 and got ready to go out; it was a 1.5 hour drive from our motel up to the north eastern part of Yosemite. So yeah, we got into Yosemite and then parked our car near the trail we were planning to hike and started hiking! It was a 3 mile trail around a mountain, but then we went on another trail to see Dog Lake and then got back on our previous trail.

While we were hiking, we went up a pretty steep path and we saw poop. My mom freaked out because she thought there were going to be bears around since there were bear warnings where we parked our car. So the whole time, my brother and I were taunting our mom about bears. We didn’t see any bears, but we saw deers and a lot of squirrels! HAHA! Dog Lake was really beautiful. I’ll post pictures once I get them on a computer. We stopped at Dog Lake for about half an hour while my brother and Celine were trying to catch dragonflies. They succeed in catching two. Then we started going back to the car, but we decided to stop to take a picture of the mountain we hiked around. So I stepped off the trail closer to the mountain and then a snake jumped out of nowhere! It wasn’t huge, but it was still a snake. So I ran away from it and then went to another spot. Pathetic.

We got back into the car and then started driving further into the park. We stopped at the the park grill and ate lunch, then we continued driving for a bit. We ended up finding this other lake (I forgot the name of it) and we ended up staying there for about 1.5 hours to play in the water. It was almost like a mini beach without the dirty water and big waves. There was a mini shore! The water was crystal clear and I honestly would’ve swam in it if I had my bathing suit with me. But I didn’t, so I just rolled up my jeans and started walking around in it. We ended up heading back to the motel around 4 because my brother was being a brat and didn’t want to continue walking anymore. >:| I was so mad at him. So we were back at the motel way too early for my liking and we ended up doing NOTHING. After a while my parents told us to go out for a walk so they could sleep, so my brother, cousins, and I ended up walking across the street seeing what we could eat for dinner that night. We settled for Italian because it was literally right across the street so we didn’t have to drive and we didn’t feel like eating McDonald’s or burgers of any type.

Saturday was almost the same. We woke up at 6, got ready then checked out of our motel and headed into the park again. This time, we just drove around looking for places that could catch our attention. We ended up wandering around wherever we were allowed to drive. We ended up climbing up this area to get a picture of this mountain, I forget the names. Well anyway, I was looking over the edge and it was absolutely horrific! I was so scared that I was going to fall off. :( Then we continued driving and we stopped by the Valley Portal and we saw Elephant Rock and few other things. Next we went downhill and stopped by this rest stop by a creek. I had wanted to take a picture of the creek earlier, but we didn’t stop, so I decided to climb over some rocks to get a better view. I stepped on this rock, which was huge, and then was about to go down to the next rock, but I misplaced my foot and I ended up sliding down to the next rock. It was so freaken embarrassing because there was a family eating not too far away. Anyway, my dad ended up helping me get down to the farthest spot and then took some pictures and almost slid down into the creek while we were going back up. When I went back up my mom freaked out just a bit because she didn’t know where my dad and I went.

Next we stopped at this place where there you could see some of the biggest Sequoias; and I swear, those Sequoias can be HUGE! It was a mile walk from where we parked our car and it was so easy getting there because we were just going downhill the whole time. But when we started going back up, I was dying! The way back was really steep uphill and it honestly wasn’t really worth it for a hollowed out, dead Sequoia that was supposed to be the biggest tree. But whatever, I ended up making it back to the car before everybody. :D

Oh hey that reminds me of the restrooms in the park. They are so disgusting. Whatever you let go in the toilet just goes straight down into the hole, no flushing so it stinks like crazy! Yuck. :( And they don’t have any sinks, all you get is hand sanitizer if you’re lucky.

Next stop was Glacier Point! You can see most of the park from that place and it’s really nice. You can see two waterfalls, which aren’t as amazing as it sounds because they are really small and there’s not much water coming from it. It was just really lame. We left after we got some pictures because we didn’t want to get home too late.

So at that time, it was already around 3 and we still didn’t have lunch yet so we were all famished. But we couldn’t find a restaurant inside the park at all so I was kind of pissed, we didn’t actually get to eat until 5 when we were finally officially out of the park. Subway never tasted better! I was so sick of food that made me feel like I had just put on several pounds after I ate it. We ended up back in L.A. around 9:30 so we went into Chinatown to eat dinner. Then arrived home at 11.

Yeah, this weekend was pretty wicked. But very tiring. Both my shins hurt right now. My chest still feels kind of funny. Hiking 5 miles with most of it trails going upwards in 9000+ ft elevation really does a lot to you especially if you’ve been doing nothing this summer excepting sitting in front of a computer.

Speaking of computer, my motherboard is screwed up. Ugh, so my uncle took it home to fix or whatever so I won’t be having that back soon. For now, I at least have my cousin’s laptop to use! I’m so bummed out about my computer right now. I saw these new behind the scenes pictures from Twilight and I wanted to make icons with those so bad because they were so irresistible! Ugh, darn Robert Pattinson for taunting me with his pretty face. :(

Pretty amazing weekend

In family, weekend on March 16, 2008 by Michelle

This weekend was by far one of the most eventful in the longest time ever. Saturday was Derek’s birthday party, so I went to that. Played Rockband and learned to play Guitar Hero! :D I skipped to medium after playing easy once because it was so slow and annoying. I’m not that accurate with medium, but it’s pretty close. It was fun playing endless amounts of it. Funniest thing was when Yolanta brought me my present at DEREK’S BIRTHDAY PARTY. I felt bad for Derek. -____- So yeah, that was fun in some pretty weird ways. But something really irritated me; like the way somebody talked to me for a while. I learned to ignore though.

Then today I went to my aunt’s house and saw Steven and his new baby brother Kyle! :D Kyle is so tiny, I don’t think he’s even 8 pounds. He was so flimsy that I was afraid of holding him. I wanted to drop him on the floor when I touched the soft spot on his head because it really surprised me. He’s only about two weeks old by the way. Steven is so annoying sometimes. He runs around and drinks way too much soda and climbs around all over you. It’s pretty funny actually. He’s also somewhat potty-trained, but not really.

I don’t know how that seemed eventful reading back about it, but it was; for me at least.

So something came up for this upcoming Saturday. My cousin is having a birthday party. Hopefully I don’t really have to go so I can go to Sadies. Hopefully.

Chinese New Year Eve

In family, random on February 6, 2008 by Michelle

Today is Chinese New Year Eve. We made a nice dinner and my cousin that goes to UCI is coming over for dinner. It’s been one year since I’ve last seen him. That should be interesting. Well yeah, I was watching my dad chop up the crab live. :/ It was pretty sad actually, my brother made all these sound effects to go with it, so lame. Anyway, I’ll update later tonight on this.

Just right now, my mom asked me what this $15 donation deal was about. So I told her it was for the people that painted the numbers on our curb. Then my brother went “what’s a curb?” I wanted to shoot him in the head at that moment.

I find it pretty random how I’ve probably only talked to Josh Anderson at most two times and I was almost going to spend all of 6th period talking to him in the library if I didn’t have to go home today. I didn’t really mind it, I just thought into it and found it pretty random.

GUESS WHAT?! My arm hurts from carrying my Euro and math book as I walked a few blocks on yesterday. How pathetic.

pointless weekend

In a good laugh, day wasted, family on December 23, 2007 by Michelle

This weekend was spent over at Vegas and it was absolutely pointless. I went with my parents, brother, a family friend and her two girls (Anna and Jessica). The car ride there was absolutely the most horrible thing ever. It was so slow due to a stupid car accident so we didn’t arrive until 9. But then again, we didn’t get on the rode until 2:30 since we had to wait for somebody. So we arrived and went to the Rio and stayed at the room. It was weird because we were supposed to have 2 rooms but we only got one with one bed and we were just like wtf. Then we were all hungry so we went down to eat and we ate Chinese food, which was pretty lame since the buffet was closed and such. Afterwards we went back up to our room and called the lady who booked the room for us and she said that our room was at Flamingo, so we had to go to Flamingo and try to find a parking spot, but it didn’t work out so my dad just dropped us off in the front and then went up to the room. THE PLACE WAS LIKE A MAZE! It took us literally 5 minutes to get to our room once we were on the floor. So we got there and it was only 2 beds for the 7 of us so the parents slept on the floor. I myself got no sleep whatsoever because my brother kept kicking and hitting me in his sleep so I busied myself kicking and hitting him back and pushing him back to his half of the bed. The people in the room next to us were having sex. It was so freaken funny because I was up listening to their pounding on the wall and such. It was REALLY disturbing. So yeah, then I took a shower at 6:30 and then went downstairs with Jessica, Anna, and my brother to walk around and the first thing we found was the buffet. But we ended up walking to the coffee stand to get hot chocolate. :] Afterwards we walked out to the wild habitats and then walked around to look for the pool and then we sat by the wedding chapel for a while and then we went back up the room and checked out then went to eat at Chinatown. I finally had some BBQ sausage after a really long time and it was so good! Then we went to the Fashion Show mall and shopped for a while. The Quicksilver there had a sale anddd I was so disappointed that I didn’t get anything. :[ There was this bag that I really wanted from there, it looked like a Coach bag and it was so cute! But I really wanted this guy track jacket, it was white, and when I was spotted it and was about to go over to look at it, some other guy took it. :[[ Okay so yeah, that was basically all that occurred. Oh, and we left today at 2. YAYY!

So yeah, on the way there, we somehow started talking about religion and we just somehow moved onto sins because I said that Las Vegas is ‘Sin City’.  Then from then on, whenever we thought one of us lied, we’d go “SIN! STOP COMMITTING SINS!” It was pretty funny for a moment.

it’s just kind of depressing.

In anger, family on October 10, 2007 by Michelle

So this morning, some idiots basically cut open all the locks to my dad’s truck and stole all of his power tools, at least all of it that was in the back parts. I guess he was at least somewhat lucky that they didn’t break the windows and get the stuff in the front of the seats. So this morning he was in an extremely bad mood and I just wanted to cry because I hated how things were. And I did end up crying when I got home this afternoon. It was just so crappy.

In total, we basically lost about $2000.

It’s just not fair.

In a good laugh, anger, band, family, school on September 27, 2007 by Michelle

So much crap going on with band this week. It’s just stupid. Basically, I wrote this entry for freewrite and then I read it out loud because well, I was really annoyed at the moment. Anyway, nobody seems to get along nowadays.

School hasn’t been all that great either. I got another C on my Bio test. I absolutely hate that class right now. But hello, another B in history isn’t all that bad. :) We also had a math test yesterday and I feel pretty confident about it. And lately, I just haven’t been feeling like trying my best in things. After these past few weeks my mood has just gone downhill with school work. Poop.

So like today wasn’t a good day at all either. It just sucks in general with everything. More band practice tomorrow. And today, I spent like 10 minutes stopping Josh from getting to his car so I’d at least somewhat get the truth out of him, but honestly I failed. Then Irene and I went to the library and did our work and talked.

Oh yes, and yesterday after practice, code names came up. Hotdog, Mustard, and Ketchup. HAHAHAHA.

Last night was also a family dinner at MPV. Steven has become such a hard to handle boy. He runs around way too much. It’s funny how everybody jerks him around because he’s so naughty. Poor kid.

first home game & stuff.

In band, family, food, football games, school on September 15, 2007 by Michelle

Okay so I got a 50/55 on my history test! :) I was very happy. But I got a 31.5/35 on my first German quiz and a 18 or 19/20 on the second one. Gosh I was just so happy about the history quiz. :) Oh and I got an 8/10 on my math quiz. >:| Silly mistakes!

Anyway, first home game was last night against Ontario Christian. We won; by quite a lot. It was just a pretty darn fun game. Halftime wasn’t as bad as I thought it could’ve been, even though I was like half a series off in the end. :/ Oh gosh, but anyway yeahhh good times. :D Yolanta basically gave me a panic attack and I basically just started crying. Yes, it was pretty funny though because I was totally unaware of it all. So the story goes, I was holding Valerie’s flute, and then I was holding it all lazily like I was handing it to somebody and Yolanta takes it out of my hand when I’m not paying attention and then after a while I start panicking because like the flute was gone! In the end, Yolanta had it and she thought I was giving it to her to hold onto. -____-

Then last night was also my dad’s birthday, he’s 48 now. My parents are old. He’s as old as Hugh Laurie. So we had cake last night and then tonight, we went to Johnny Carino’s for dinner. I’m so full now.

I had so much more to write, but I totally forgot it all.

Anyway, quite a bit of homework to do this weekend. :[ And I haven’t even started because I was out the whole day.

should not

In family on August 10, 2007 by Michelle

I should not even be on right now because my computer is supposed to be taken apart. But guess what? I have it privately set up in my room anyway. :D I honestly couldn’t stand not being able to at least go on.

So we’re not going to put the computers back until Monday or something. :/ But gosh I don’t really care. Mines is working in here anyway. :) The computer room is done though. We’re just going to do the other one and then move everything back. THEN WE’RE ALMOST ALL DONE! Just need the kitchen painted, but that’ll probably only take one day or something.

Blah the floor is so dirty and I’m sitting on it because I couldn’t move my computer onto the desk. You have no idea how hard it was for me to haul my computer from my brother’s room to mines. >:| But it’s all worth it now that I get the computer and he doesn’t. AHAH. But he hogs the tv, sooo that evens out.

my mom has a problem with everything.
there’s nothing wrong in me crying if i want to.
there’s nothing wrong with me blowing my nose after i cried.
there’s no point in yelling at me when i know.
there’s no point in smacking me.

my nose hurts from blowing my nose so much actually.

and i thank derek for reading my rambling nonsense.
i think i would’ve killed myself if i ranted and nobody responded.

i-d-k, my b-f-f Jill?

In family, life, vent on July 27, 2007 by Michelle

WHY IS MY BROTHER SUCH A BRAT? More stuff happened today and I honestly hate it so much. It feels terrible on the inside to have nobody to talk to it about. But idk, I always pretend things never happen after I cry. So yeah, today was just terrible. :(

Clarissa saw Big City Rock last night and I’m so envious. I don’t get to see them on Sunday because my mom can’t take me. It’s so sad, I haven’t gone to a concert in a year and I really miss the whole experience. Like being slightly deaf the rest of the night, the energy you feel, and the excitement you get when you meet the band members.

Anyway, these few days things have been really hitting me. It’s really all starting to bother me. I’m such a bitch sometimes because I go BLEH over the dumbest thing you can possibly imagine and it’s not like I honestly intend to sometimes. But it gets so annoying to feel the way I feel; overlooked. Like every other girl out there, I like to feel acknowledged. And I really don’t feel that way at all.

Oh hey, and there were like 3 wasps by the window today. bahhh :[ I was so scared.
